My basics are a bit weak.....
Can someone explain to me the following:
1) What is a virtual server/environment....I have been assigned a virtual box to which I can connect to remotely using RDC.... So is a virtual environment just a software instance on an actual physical server? When I see the CPU/RAM details it show 16 GB of RAM, does that mean that is the total RAM of the physical server on which the virtual software instance is? the same with CPU? Please clarify.
2) What is a "LocalHost" on SQL Server. Iam sure it is the local instance of SQL server on that virtual machine, please clarify this too!
